Commandment Number Two

Commandment Number Two is “Everyone dies alone”.  Some people may remember that in the old days of the USA many people wished to be good so that when they died they would go to heaven and be with Jesus.  Now we know these people were silly fools, because, as Commandment Number Two tells us, “Everyone dies alone”. There is no Jesus, there is no heaven,  so you might as well be bad. What difference does it make, anyway? Yes, I know, many Americans WANT to believe in heaven and Jesus, but such beliefs are really extremely bad form here at America Farm.  Luckily, propaganda is going out night and day to help Americans think correctly.  For example, Commandment Number Two,  “Everyone dies alone”, has been worked into diverse mass media entertainments such as the films “Donnie Darko” and “My Dinner with Andre”, and it also appears in the seminal work on alienation, “The Outsider” by Colin Wilson.  Like wind and rain wearing away rock, our leaders work away year after year to bore the message into our brains. They want to help us to learn and to accept Commandment Number Two!

Commandment Number One

Rules are very important. The first rule in the book is called the First Commandment. The First Commandment says:  “Whenever asked for your opinion, always answer “What difference does it make?” Opinions are very dangerous things, you know. Your opinion could get you fired, or maybe put in jail for a long, long time.  If you are a basketball player like Tim Hardaway, it could get you “banished”. And you don’t want that to happen, do you? I didn’t think so.

So let’s review – whenever asked for your opinion, answer in a loud, proud voice: “WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?”
