The way we achieve equality here in America Farm is to saw the heterosexual white man off at the knees and give everyone else ladders. That’s because, before civil rights, the white man generally would leap right to the top of the heap. It was completely unfair. The white man had to be taught to crawl happily to his place at the bottom of the heap.
It was the beginning of the end for the white man in America Farm when authors starting cranking out books with titles like ”The Hazards of Being Male, Surviving the Myth of [WHITE, HETERO] Masculine Privilege”. Here is a quote from that 1976 book:
“The autonomous male, the independent strong achiever who can be counted on to be always in control is still essentially the preferred male image.”
You may sense from that single line that the author, one Herb Goldberg, Ph.d, wrote with a pen in one hand and a saw in the other. Dr. Goldberg recommended that men should get in touch with their feelings, marry liberated women and escape from the masculine role and the suicidal “success” syndrome. True liberation would follow, so promised the good Doctor.
